Rotten Apple<\/strong><\/p>\n

This is a strategy game. \u00a0It is a lot of fun and requires some thinking in order to win. \u00a0Get 13 small items. \u00a0Make 12 of them the same and 1 that is different. \u00a0For example get 12 yellow legos and 1 green lego. \u00a0Two people play the game. \u00a0Each player takes a turn taking some of the 12 items. \u00a0On your turn you may take 1, 2 or 3 items. \u00a0You take turns taking any number of objects. \u00a0Whoever is left taking the odd object at the end is the loser. \u00a0 Here is a sample:<\/p>\n

You can easily change the game to GOOD Apple<\/strong> by making the odd object the one that you want at the end. \u00a0So the player who gets to take the last cube by itself is the winner.<\/p>\n

The students have played both games and they love it! \u00a0Try it at home and have fun.<\/p>\n

Here are some math games that you can play at home. \u00a0You can also visit the math sites that are listed on the main page to help with counting \u00a0and number recognition. \u00a0You should be completing a math activity at least 3 times each week.<\/p>\n

Same, More or Less<\/strong><\/p>\n

You will need a regular deck of cards. \u00a0Take out the face cards. \u00a0Pick one card from the deck and place it at \u00a0the top of the table. \u00a0As you pick one card at a time form the deck you have to decide if the number on the card that you picked is the same as the number at the top of the table, less or more. \u00a0You continue until all of the cards have been placed in a pile. \u00a0They either get put in a pile that is less than the main card, or the pile that is the same as the main card, or the pile that is more than the main card. \u00a0Count up how many cards are in each pile to figure out if you had more cards that were the same, less or more than the main card picked at the beginning of the game.<\/p>\n

Name That Number-<\/strong><\/p>\n

You will need a regular deck of cards. \u00a0Take out the face cards- Jack, Queen, King and the Ace. \u00a0Shuffle the rest of the cards and place them in a neat pile in the middle. \u00a0You turn over one card at a time. \u00a0Whoever says the number on the card first wins the card. \u00a0Play continues until all of the cards are gone. \u00a0Then each player counts how many cards they have to find the winner. \u00a0The player with the most cards wins!<\/p>\n

Top-It-<\/strong><\/p>\n

**If you flip two cards and they are the same, then flip two more and whoever is larger gets all 4 cards.<\/p>\n
