Welcome to third grade! Let me start by introducing myself. \u00a0I grew up in Dearborn and have lived in Dearborn for most of my life. \u00a0I attended Oakland University and Eastern Michigan University. This year will be my nineteenth year of teaching. \u00a0\u00a0I am very excited to spend this school year with your child. We will have a lot of fun together while learning! <\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Student Expectations- <\/b>It is essential students arrive on time every day. \u00a0Students are expected to be prepared for class with all their necessary materials. All students must put forth their best effort daily in order to meet all expectations.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Behavior-<\/b>We use a color system for behavior. Each student will start on green, but will have an opportunity to move up to purple for outstanding behavior. Students can also move down when a rule is broken to yellow, orange, red, or blue. More of this will be discussed at the parent meeting. Students will circle the color of their behavior each day in the planners. If a student is not on green, I will also initial the color of their behavior for the day with a possible note explaining the behavior. <\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Communication Folders<\/b> \u2013 I will be providing your child with a communication folder. \u00a0<\/span>It is the student\u2019s responsibility to bring this to class daily, since they will be turning in any work, and collecting any new notes in this folder<\/span>. Here you will find any returned work, notes, and handouts. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Supplies<\/b>– On Monday I sent home the third grade supply list. \u00a0It is greatly appreciated whenever parents can help out.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Absences<\/b> – It is necessary to call the office when your child will be absent. \u00a0The number is 313-827-2300. Please send a note or call before 11:00 a.m. if your child will need to be dismissed early for appointments.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Blog<\/b>-Please follow this blog for an update of weekly spelling words, announcements, and important events happening in the school and classroom.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>On the right side of the screen you can enter your email address so that you will be notified by email when I add a blog post.<\/span><\/p>\n

Questions and Concerns<\/b>– Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns you may have regarding your child. \u00a0If you call during school hours it will go directly to voicemail since we are teaching. We will return your call as soon as possible. \u00a0You may also contact me via email donoghk@dearbornschools.org\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0or send a note with your child. \u00a0Please do not wait until a scheduled conference to contact me regarding concerns.<\/span><\/p>\n

Remind App-<\/b> \u00a0I also sent home instructions on how to sign up for classroom updates on the Remind app. \u00a0Please sign up for this so you are able to receive class announcements. <\/span><\/p>\n
