Open House is Thursday, September 18, from 6:00 – 7:30 p.m. \u00a0I hope everyone can visit our classroom in Room 34 and the rest of Haigh.<\/p>\n
Spelling booklets will be sent home today. \u00a0Please sign your child’s booklet and have him or her return it to school on Tuesday. \u00a0Each Monday students will get a new list of words to study. \u00a0Every Friday we will have our spelling test.<\/p>\n
Reading homework will begin this week. \u00a0Please have your child read for homework for at least 15 minutes each day. \u00a0Some days, students will write a response about what they read. \u00a0To begin, students can write about their favorite part of the story.<\/p>\n
Math lessons include counting practice, addition and using a number line to count.<\/p>\n
Social Studies lessons focus on learning history. \u00a0We have been discussing ways in which students can learn about the past.<\/p>\n
Science lessons include study of the sun, sky and weather.<\/p>\n
Each Friday, students visit the library. \u00a0Please have your child return \u00a0his or her book to school by Friday.<\/p>\n
Reminder: \u00a0Gym on Tuesday, wear or bring gym shoes.<\/p>\n
