{"id":674,"date":"2020-05-25T12:46:00","date_gmt":"2020-05-25T16:46:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/dobrong\/?p=674"},"modified":"2020-05-28T16:07:58","modified_gmt":"2020-05-28T20:07:58","slug":"remote-learning-plans-may-26-29-tuesday-friday","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/dobrong\/2020\/05\/25\/remote-learning-plans-may-26-29-tuesday-friday\/","title":{"rendered":"Remote Learning Plans May 26 &#8211; 29 &#8211;  Tuesday &#8211; Friday"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Dear First Grade Families,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Here are the assignments for the week.&nbsp; I am posting assignments for the week on my blog, through Class <a href=\"http:\/\/dojo.com\">dojo.com<\/a>, and through <a href=\"http:\/\/readworks.org\">readworks.org<\/a>.&nbsp; Please help your child complete the assignments.&nbsp; At this point, students will be earning credit for doing school work and grades will be entered in the grade book.&nbsp; Students will receive a report card for the online work your child is doing at home.&nbsp; Please email me anytime if you have questions regarding your child\u2019s online assignments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Spelling &#8211; The spelling words for the week include words with &#8211; oo.&nbsp; The words include moon, spot, tooth, balloon, raccoon, noon, room, broom, soon, and pool.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tuesday &#8211; Have your child write sentences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Wednesday &#8211; Have your child write words in ABC order.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Thursday &#8211; Have your child write each word two times.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Friday &#8211; Give your child a spelling test.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Reading &#8211; 20 minutes per day<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tuesday Reading &#8211; Log in to <a href=\"http:\/\/readworks.org\">readworks.org<\/a> and read \u201cPeople Need the Ocean.\u201d&nbsp; Answer the questions and submit work.&nbsp; Read on Reading Eggs for extra practice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Wednesday Reading &#8211; Log in to <a href=\"http:\/\/readworks.org\">readworks.org<\/a> and read, \u201cWe Need Fresh Water.\u201d&nbsp; Answer the questions and submit work.&nbsp; Read on RAZ Kids for extra practice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Thursday Reading &#8211;&nbsp; Log in to <a href=\"http:\/\/readworks.org\">readworks.org<\/a> and read, \u201cA Chick Grows Up.\u201d&nbsp; Answer the questions and submit work. Read on Reading Eggs or RAZ Kids for extra practice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Friday Reading &#8211; Read on Reading Eggs or RAZ Kids.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Writing &#8211; 20 minutes per day<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The writing can include the writing students are doing through <a href=\"http:\/\/readworks.org\">readworks.org<\/a> and the following writing prompts.&nbsp; The only writing that needs to be turned in is the writing through <a href=\"http:\/\/readworks.org\">readworks.org<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tuesday &#8211; Write about what you did on vacation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Wednesday &#8211; Write about what you learned about the ocean.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Thursday &#8211; Write about your favorite ice cream flavor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Friday &#8211; Write about your plans for the weekend.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Math &#8211; 20 minutes per day<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For Math practice, students can use Math Seeds or Zearn.&nbsp; Students can also practice counting money or telling time.&nbsp; Please have your child go to Knowledge on the Go or the Engage New York website to do the Eureka Math lessons.&nbsp; You can also use the Succeed Eureka Math book to practice the lessons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tuesday &#8211; Do Lesson 6 in Module 5<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Wednesday &#8211; Do Lesson 7<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Thursday &#8211; Do Lesson 8<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Friday &#8211; Practice math on Math Seeds or Zearn.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The only math that needs to be turned in to me are the two math pages I posted on Class <a href=\"http:\/\/dojo.com\">dojo.com<\/a> on 5\/26 and 5\/27.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Science &#8211; Go to the Mystery Science website and follow the first grade Mystery Science lesson, \u201cWhy Are Butterflies So Colorful?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Social Studies &#8211; Students are learning about family history.&nbsp; You can look at photographs of your family with your child and discuss how people are related and family memories.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Please let me know if you need help with any of the online assignments. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Here is the link for the Special Classes, including Art, Music, Gym, Technology and Media class.  Please use this link so your child can do the activities for these classes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/document\/d\/10gbwWqEraSNownN1bV7bjA1LKr3CJ_3BVOqtfwoU7EA\/edit\">Haigh Specials, Support, and Special Ed.
