Dear First Grade Families, 9-16-19<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Spelling booklets will be sent home today. Please sign your child’s spelling test and return the booklet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
For the first report card marking period, students will be learning about the following:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Reading lessons will include reading a variety of stories and practicing retelling the sequence of events. Students will also be reading informational text and identifying facts about topics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Writing lessons will include writing personal narrative experience stories. Students will also write informational facts about various topics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Math lessons focus on addition, subtraction, number bonds, and number stories. We are using the Eureka math program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Social Studies unit of study is “How To Get Along With Others.” Students are learning about the importance of rules, fairness, and responsibility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Science lessons will include the study of light waves and sound waves. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
On Friday, September 20, 2019, students have a half day of school. Dismissal will be at 11:45 a.m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Reminders: Read 15 minutes or more for homework and record minutes read on the September reading log. Wear gym shoes and return library books on Friday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
