Students had a great week of learning new routines during the first week of school. \u00a0I look forward to another wonderful year of learning.<\/p>\n
Reading lessons focus on reading good fit books and retelling stories. \u00a0Students will get a book bag today to practice reading books 15 minutes or more daily for homework. \u00a0The book bag will be sent home each day and returned to school the next day to use during reading groups. \u00a0 They will also get a reading log for September to record books read for homework. \u00a0I will collect the reading log at the end of the month.<\/p>\n
Writing lessons focus on writing a personal narrative or experience story.<\/p>\n
Math lessons include our new Eureka Math program. \u00a0I will send home information about the lessons. \u00a0The focus for math lessons is counting objects; addition; number bonds; and number stories.<\/p>\n
Social Studies lessons focus on rules and how to get along with others. \u00a0Students also are learning about what it means to be a citizen.<\/p>\n
Science lessons include learning about light and sound waves.<\/p>\n
Open House will be on Thursday, September 13, 6:00-7:30 p.m.<\/p>\n
Reminders: \u00a0Wear gym shoes on Mondays for gym class.<\/p>\n
