Happy 2017! \u00a0I am looking forward to another great year of learning for students. \u00a0I hope everyone had a relaxing vacation.<\/p>\n

Please return the reading and math review packets. \u00a0We will use them to review for the NWEA reading and math tests that students will take on the computer soon. \u00a0Also, please return the reading log.<\/p>\n

We are starting Unit 5 math lessons. \u00a0The lessons include learning about less than, greater than, and equal to symbols. \u00a0Students will also learn about place value; number stories; telling time; counting money; shapes; addition and subtraction.<\/p>\n

Reading lessons include folktales, fables, and informational text. \u00a0Students retell stories using story maps.<\/p>\n

Writing lessons include opinion writing. \u00a0Students write their opinion about a topic, write reasons for their opinion and include a closing sentence.<\/p>\n

Social Studies lessons are about the study of Economics. \u00a0Students learn about consumer needs and wants; goods and services; producers and consumers.<\/p>\n

Science lessons continue to focus on weather. \u00a0Students learn about different weather conditions and tools used to measure weather.<\/p>\n

Reminders: \u00a0 Read 15 minutes or more daily for homework. \u00a0Wear gym shoes on Monday. \u00a0Return library books on Friday.<\/p>\n
