Today is the first day of the second report card marking period. \u00a0Report cards for the first card marking will be given to parents during conferences. \u00a0Conferences will be held November 10, 16 and 17.<\/p>\n
The Unit 2 math test will be sent home today. \u00a0Please sign and return the test. \u00a0Unit 3 math lessons will include addition, subtraction, patterns, even and odd numbers, telling time, counting money and story problems.<\/p>\n
Reading lessons will continue to include Daily 5 and CAFE reading strategies. \u00a0Please continue to make sure your child is reading at home 15 minutes or more for homework each day.<\/p>\n
Writing lessons will focus on informational writing. \u00a0Students will write facts about various topics.<\/p>\n
Science lessons will include study of weather and seasons. \u00a0Students will also learn about tools used to analyze weather conditions.<\/p>\n
The Social Studies unit of study is What Is A Family? \u00a0Students will learn about how families are alike and different.<\/p>\n
We will visit the Haigh Scholastic Book Fair on Monday, November 14. \u00a0Students may bring money to school to buy books on that day.<\/p>\n
Reminders: \u00a0Students do not have school on Tuesday, November 8. \u00a0Wear gym shoes and return library books on Monday.<\/p>\n
