I am sending home a reading log for the month of February. \u00a0Please have your child read for homework 15 minutes or more at least five days each week. \u00a0It is a reading challenge and if your child reads at least 400 minutes or more during the month of February, he or she will earn a prize. \u00a0Reading really helps students reach high academic levels of success.<\/p>\n
Unit 5 Math lessons include addition; subtraction; counting coins; place value; telling time; number stories (story problems); and use of less than, greater than and equal to symbols.<\/p>\n
Science lessons will continue to include study of properties of objects. \u00a0Students are studying the three states of matter, solid, liquid and gas.<\/p>\n
Writing lessons involve informational writing in which students learn to write facts about various topics.<\/p>\n
Reminders: \u00a0Gym on Tuesday; Return library books on Friday.<\/p>\n
