{"id":41,"date":"2013-11-09T13:26:26","date_gmt":"2013-11-09T18:26:26","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/dobertn7\/?p=41"},"modified":"2013-11-09T13:27:10","modified_gmt":"2013-11-09T18:27:10","slug":"saturday","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/dobertn7\/2013\/11\/09\/saturday\/","title":{"rendered":"SATURDAY &#8230;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&#8220;Seventh Grade&#8221; by Gary Soto<\/p>\n<p>CW\/HW &#8211; sketching to show comprehension<\/p>\n<p>Read the bottom of page 39. \u00a0DRAW Victor and Michael at lunch. \u00a0Your drawing should include every detail that is in the story. \u00a0You should also add details from your own knowledge. \u00a0Since you don&#8217;t have the book at home, I&#8217;ll help you out a little. \u00a0Here is a list of things from the story that should be in your sketch:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Victor and Michael are sitting at lunch.<\/li>\n<li>Victor has tuna casserole, bread with butter, fruit cocktail, and milk.<\/li>\n<li>Michael is\u00a0<em>scowling<\/em> between bites. \u00a0The book doesn&#8217;t say what he&#8217;s eating but he&#8217;s eating something.<\/li>\n<li>Girls are walking by them.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>HINT: Scowling means Michael&#8217;s upper lip is quivering and his teeth are showing. \u00a0He&#8217;s trying to impress the ladies.<\/p>\n<p>HW &#8220;LIST IT&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>NOTE: This homework is ONLY for sixth hour. \u00a0BUT the students in 1st, 3rd and 4th hour should redo the homework if they didn&#8217;t do it the first time or if they did it wrong.<\/p>\n<p>On loose leaf, make a neat bullet list of tips on how to make a good impression. \u00a0Please explain each of the tips &#8211; one or two sentences is good. \u00a0It is BETTER to bullet list 5-7 GOOD tips and explain each one instead of making a huge list of 20 or more blah tips and not explaining them.<\/p>\n<p>Click the link below and READ the article to get some ideas.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.wikihow.com\/Make-a-Good-Impression-on-the-First-Day-of-School\">https:\/\/www.wikihow.com\/Make-a-Good-Impression-on-the-First-Day-of-School<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>I WAS going to add another composition book page, but I think all this ^ is enough.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>EC (extra credit)<\/p>\n<p>Answer on a fresh sheet of loose leaf. \u00a0Copy the question at the top of the page. \u00a0Skip Lines. At the bottom of the page, draw a very small cat.
