{"id":140,"date":"2017-09-29T19:20:48","date_gmt":"2017-09-29T23:20:48","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/dist\/?p=140"},"modified":"2017-09-29T19:27:21","modified_gmt":"2017-09-29T23:27:21","slug":"this-week-in-review","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/dist\/2017\/09\/29\/this-week-in-review\/","title":{"rendered":"This Week in Review"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><span style=\"color: #339966;\">Science<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>This week the students took the NWEA test in Science.\u00a0 I also had available for the students links to metric measurement sites to reinforce metric measurement.\u00a0 The links were published on the about tab of google classroom.<\/p>\n<p>Wednesday and Friday were the two instructional days this week for science.\u00a0 \u00a0We continued to explore the essential question: How can failure lead to innovation?<\/p>\n<p><em>The Learning objectives for Science were:<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Wednesday<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #800080;\">Content Objective:<\/span> I can analyze the engineering design process by creating notes in my interactive science notebook .<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #993366;\">Language Objective<\/span>: I can\u00a0 write to paraphrase the engineering design process in my notebook.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Friday:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #800080;\">Content Objective:<\/span> I can develop a model of a tower using the engineering design process.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #993366;\">Language Objective:<\/span> I can orally defend my tower design to my teammates using justification of the design elements.<\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">Math<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>The students who have me for math also took the NWEA.\u00a0 \u00a0We have been working in Khan Academy on an introduction to Ratio &amp; Proportions.\u00a0 The students have also been working to add to their summer learning minutes.\u00a0 The only day we did not go on computers was Wednesday.\u00a0 They finished an activity that was started last week where they used fruit loops to model ratios.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Wednesday<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #800080;\">Content Objective<\/span>: I can apply my understanding of ratios and proportions by modeling using fruit loops.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #993366;\">Language Objective<\/span>: I can write ratios and proportions in three different ways.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Science This week the students took the NWEA test in Science.\u00a0 I also had available for the students links to metric measurement sites to reinforce metric measurement.\u00a0 The links were published on the about tab of google classroom.
