I am happy to be back in the classroom all week next week!<\/p>\n<p>Reminders: Timeline project and the Scholastic Book order are both due on Tuesday, January 23rd!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Please do some NWEA practice with your child over the next few weeks. I had posted a few weeks ago some links for practice, but it looks like all of them except for Prepdog are no longer usable. This will be the protocol for the test booklets each week. We also practiced using nouns, verbs, and adjectives in our writing.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>Math:<\/b>\u00a0The children took their +3 math test today!\u00a0Next week, we will focus on learning +4 math facts. Due to my absence this week, the children completed some cut and glue activities, but did not have an opportunity to really learn about the animals and practice their writing. Next week we will do more with this unit and learn about how arctic animals stay warm in polar climates!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Social Studies:\u00a0<\/strong>This month our focus is history. The children will present their timeline projects on January 23rd. This is a fun way for them to better understand the past by relating it to their own life and experiences. The children will practice talking about their past through sharing their timeline projects with their peers. Please make sure these projects are turned in on Tuesday (1\/23). The class will present these in the afternoon to each other and I want everyone to participate!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>Housekeeping Items:<\/b><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>Snack Time<\/b><\/p>\n<p><i>**** Due to a peanut allergy in our room, please do not send in any snacks that contain nuts.*****<\/i><\/p>\n<p><b>Folders<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Please make sure to\u00a0<b>empty\u00a0<\/b>the green folders each night! It is very difficult and time consuming to locate homework or important notes when the folder is full of papers from the day before.
