Next write the following words on Popsicle sticks or pieces of paper: CAT, BAT, RAT, MAT, HAT, JUG, BUG, HUG, MUG, RUG, CAN, MAN, FAN, PAN, and VAN. Have your student match the word to the container with the same ending sound. Example: I have the paper with the word &#8216;HAT&#8217; on it. I would look at the 3 cups. Does it make an &#8216;_UG&#8217; sound? No. Does it make an &#8216;_AT&#8217; sound? Yes.
