During last week’s committee meeting, members shared SMART goals established with their PLC teams that centered on student growth. Committee members reviewed the goals of their grade level colleagues, then came together to share take-aways and questions. We noted that several teams across a variety of content-areas focused their goals on use of evidence and/or reasoning and considered the implications of these cross-content focal points. We also reviewed the district’s School Improvement Visit rubric in light of our current practices. Click here for a copy of the article shared during our new learning.

During our 9/18 leadership team/committee meeting, team members reviewed norms and essential learning charts provided by PLC teams and considered what they may want to emulate, noticed similarities and differences and asked probing questions. The meeting also included an opportunity to read and discuss “Why Giving Effective Feedback is Trickier than it Seems.” Review the linked article and join us in our discussion!

On August 28th, 2017 43 Pioneer staff members met to begin our 2017-2018 school year. This guiding collation will work collaboratively throughout the year to examine data, build leadership capacity, research best-practices, and provide guidance for school and PLC team improvement. Members of this leadership team will meet bi-weekly and will provide support for one another as PLC team facilitators. Our first challenge… clarifying our mission, vision and values.
