{"id":276,"date":"2018-10-29T09:58:42","date_gmt":"2018-10-29T13:58:42","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/dexter\/?p=276"},"modified":"2018-10-29T09:58:42","modified_gmt":"2018-10-29T13:58:42","slug":"week-of-october-29th","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/dexter\/2018\/10\/29\/week-of-october-29th\/","title":{"rendered":"Week of October 29th"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>LAST WEEK OF THE QUARTER!<\/p>\n<p>Parent teacher conference notes are going home this week!\u00a0 Please pick a time and day that works best for you and I will set a schedule and post it.\u00a0 I look forward to meeting with all of you.<\/p>\n<p>Wednesday, October 31st we are having a class incentive party for good behavior for the past two months.\u00a0 The students have requested a potluck party.\u00a0 We will be watching a movie and enjoying food the students bring in.\u00a0 We will make a list of food choices to be sure there is a variety.\u00a0 Please let me know if you have any questions.<\/p>\n<p>Here is what is happening this week:<\/p>\n<p><strong>ELA<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Here are the spelling words: demonstrate, vanishing, prevent, defending, protest, devoted, define, bonus, moment, punishment, acre, teachable, moment, believe, trophy, column, negative, literally, natural, heritage.<\/li>\n<li>We are continuing to work on comparing and contrasting two texts.<\/li>\n<li>We are going to work on writing another TDA to prepare for M-Step.<\/li>\n<li>Remind students to read 30 minutes every night.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Math<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>We began working on adding and subtracting decimals last week.<\/li>\n<li>We will continue to work with decimals including, multiplication and division.<\/li>\n<li>Remind students to use their place value chart when completing homework.\u00a0 This tool is very helpful to determine the answer.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Science<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>We are going to continue discussing properties of matter: solid, liquid, and gas.<\/li>\n<li>Students will be able to see how different properties of matter create slime.\u00a0 (Something all students are good at now).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Social Studies<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>We are going to begin unit 2 on Meet the People.<\/li>\n<li>We will explore the Native Americans and how America was discovered.<\/li>\n<li>We will also touch on three countries in Africa that were significant in American History.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>LAST WEEK OF THE QUARTER!
