I encourage you to point to the words on your child&#8217;s core board at home while I read.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-normal-font-size\">Throughout the week point to the word &#8216;WANT&#8217; on the core board as you comment on what you think your child&#8217;s behavior is telling you.                 For example:                                                                                                                   &#8220;You crawled to the door, it looks like you WANT to go outside.&#8221;            &#8220;You&#8217;re banging your cup, it sounds like you WANT more water.&#8221;          &#8220;You&#8217;re clapping your hands, it looks like you WANT to hear more music.&#8221;  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-normal-font-size\">If your child can independently point to WANT, add 1 or 2 words to expand their utterance such as &#8220;I WANT&#8221;, &#8220;WANT MORE&#8221;, &#8220;WANT EAT&#8221;, or &#8220;I WANT GO&#8221;.
