They did extremely well with this activity! We will be moving onto new learning tomorrow!\u00a0 We also reviewed making a claim and went back into our Newsela Article of the Week to determine it&#8217;s purpose for writing and wrote a claim statement\u00a0 using the text features as evidence. Students have until Friday to finish their Article of the Week claim statement and quiz. This will be done in class as a Daily 5 choice.<\/p>\n<p>Have a wonderful day!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Homework<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>20 minutes of reading \u201cgood-fit\u201d book (60 minutes per week!) \u2013 be prepared to write about your book during Friday\u2019s bellwork<\/li>\n<li>60 minutes of MobyMax-<b>LANGUAGE<\/b><b>\u00a0<\/b>due Friday!\n<ul>\n<li>ALWAYS log in through\u00a0<strong>Clever<\/strong>\u00a0at\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/dearbornschools.org\/resources\/students\">https:\/\/dearbornschools.org\/resources\/students<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>One-Pagers are due no later than November 3rd!\u00a0 Book #1 directions have already been given to the students, Book #2 directions coming soon!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Today we categorized Author&#8217;s purpose with different types of writing.
