MORE THAN ONCE A DAY!!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Synchronous Time<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>We finished our Unit 1 Academic Vocabulary Chart by taking notes on Point of View. All notes can be found posted in my &#8220;Helpful Resources&#8221; folder under &#8220;Unit 1&#8221;.   We then read the story &#8220;Stray&#8221; by Cynthia Rylant. We will further discuss this story and review our studied vocabulary terms on Monday\/Tuesday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Comprehension and Skills Test #1 on Wednesday (A day)\/Thursday (B day)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>&#8220;Stray&#8221; by Cynthia Rylant (you can use the story to help you)<\/li><li>Author&#8217;s Purpose<\/li><li>Story Vocabulary<\/li><li>Point of View<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Study your Unit 1 Vocabulary chart to prepare for this! Review the Nearpods if you want as well! All are in &#8220;Helpful Resources&#8221; folder on Schoology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Asynchronous Work<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>ReadTheory (5 quizzes)<\/strong>\u2013 log onto ReadTheory and finish the pretest so you can start your homework quizzes \u2013\u00a0<strong>5 quizzes due Friday @ 3:10pm<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>(you will see this as\u00a030 total quizzes\u00a0passed since Sept. 10th)<\/strong><\/li><li><strong>IXL \u2013 C.3 \u2013 Identify author\u2019s purpose<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 must get a<strong>\u00a0SmartScore of 90<\/strong>\u00a0for full points; Use your notes and the Nearpod posted in the \u201cHelpful Resources\u201d folder to help you. \u2013\u00a0<strong>due Friday @ 3:10pm<\/strong><\/li><li><strong>Silent Read your \u201cGood Fit\u201d book \u2013 20 minutes\/5 days a week (100 minutes total)<\/strong><\/li><li><strong>End of Novel One-Pager #1 &#8211; due Friday, November 13th @ 11:59 pm<\/strong> &#8211; must be done reading your &#8220;Good Fit&#8221; book to complete!<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Late Work Due Date<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>The end of the card marking is October 30th.&nbsp;<\/strong>In order to have time to grade any late work,&nbsp;<strong>I&nbsp;WILL NOT&nbsp;accept any late work (missing assignments) past&nbsp;Monday, October 26th @ 3:10 pm.<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">This week\u2019s schedule break down<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Monday<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2013 B day (students have Peterson)<\/li><li><strong>Tuesday<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2013 A day (students have Jones)<\/li><li><strong>Wednesday&nbsp;<\/strong>\u2013 B day (students have Jones)<\/li><li><strong>Thursday&nbsp;<\/strong>\u2013 A day (students have Peterson)<\/li><li><strong>Friday&nbsp;<\/strong>\u2013 B day (students have Peterson)<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Your Zoom sessions are set up in your teachers\u2019 Schoology courses. Should you have any Tech issues during Synchronous time (AM), you need to contact the&nbsp;<strong>Dearborn Technology Department&nbsp;313-827-8400<\/strong>. Shutting down your computer (closing the Chromebook or computer is NOT shutting it down) or making sure you are completely logged out of all other Google accounts on the device you are using fixes most issues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Bryant\u2019s Library Book Check-Out<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Bryant is excited to start to offer curbside library service to Bryant students on&nbsp;<strong>Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 1-2:30 pm<\/strong>&nbsp;at the library window (off of Drexel). Books will be passed out to students through the library window, just like a fast food drive thru window. There will be a sign either on the window or in front of the window to show students where to go.&nbsp;<strong>Students would need to have no overdues or fines currently, and&nbsp;would need to place the book on hold using our online&nbsp;library catalog.<\/strong>&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>How to Place a Book on Hold at Bryant Media Center:<\/strong>&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/htT8g5y8p1U\" target=\"_blank\">https:\/\/youtu.be\/htT8g5y8p1U<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Username: student # Password:&nbsp; student #<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>**Students will need to hear from the librarian before coming to get the book they placed on hold.
