We reviewed similes and metaphors and did practice with song lyrics. We then took notes on personification and imagery and watched a Flocabulary video to reinforce our notes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Writing<\/span><\/strong>: We began our &#8220;Overcoming Obstacles&#8221; rough draft today. I WILL NOT accept these late because you have 2 1\/2 months to work on them! These are worth 20 summative points EACH!<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-heading\"><strong>All late work and missing assignments are due no later than FRIDAY as well (1\/10). Many students are missing MobyMax and their Newsela articles (self-driving cars and college athletes articles). You had two full days in class and Winter Break to turn in missing assignments. If these are not done by Friday they will remain a zero.<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Homework<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Read Theory<\/strong>\u00a0(5 passed every week) \u2013\u00a0<strong>55 total passed from November 2nd-January 17th<\/strong>\u00a0to get full points<\/li><li><strong>Read\u00a0<\/strong>your \u201cgood fit\u201d book for 20 minutes (you need to do this for your One-Pagers!)<\/li><li><strong>One-Pager #3 and #4 due FRIDAY \u2013 I DO NOT accept these late<\/strong><\/li><li><strong>Missing assignments due no later than Friday.<\/strong> You had all Winter Break and 2 days in class leading up to Winter Break to work on these assignments.
