Detroit Zoological Park<\/strong><\/p>\n Dear Families,<\/p>\n On Monday, October 29, 2018, the first graders will be going on a field trip to the Detroit Zoo<\/strong>. In this packet you will find: a permission slip and an envelope for payment. The bus is scheduled to leave for the zoo at 9:00 am and return at approximately 2:30 pm.<\/p>\n The zoo recommends at least one adult chaperone to every ten students; however, it would better serve each student\u2019s needs to have one adult chaperone to every four students (or less). If you are interested in becoming a chaperone, please stop in the office to have your background checked. This process takes time, so please do not wait to do this. If you have not had your background checked and cleared through the office, you will not be able to chaperone this field trip. <\/strong>L<\/strong><\/p>\n The group rate for the zoo is $10.00 for students and $6.00 for adults<\/strong>. To receive the discount price, we must enter the gate as a group. Please send in your payment in the attached envelope. If you are a zoo member you will enter through the membership gate.\u00a0 Zoo members still have to pay $4 for each child to cover the cost of the two buses we have scheduled to take us to the zoo. <\/strong><\/p>\n Finally, chaperones may not ride the bus this year due to limited seating. You are responsible for your own transportation to and from the zoo.<\/p>\n Please be sure to sign the permission slip and send in payments no later than<\/p>\n Wednesday, October 17, 2018.<\/strong><\/p>\n Thank you,<\/p>\n The First Grade Teachers<\/p>\n <\/p>\n **** It was brought to my attention that the permission slip does not have a place to indicate if you would like to chaperone. If you would like to chaperone, please make a note of it on the bottom portion of the slip that gets turned into me and I will take care of it.
