Hi! My name is Mrs. Courtney Otto and I am so excited to be your child’s teacher this year!<\/p>\n

I graduated from Wayne State University in 2013 with my Bachelors of Science in elementary education and an endorsement in early childhood and special education, ELA (English Language Arts) and science. After graduation, I worked as a preschool teacher in a private school then moved my career to Dearborn. This is my sixth year teaching at Haigh \ud83d\ude42 In the summer of 2016, I earned my ESL (English as a Second Language) endorsement from Oakland University. I am currently studying to earn my Masters in Curriculum Design and Development at Central Michigan University and will graduate upon completion of my thesis in May 2020.\u00a0<\/p>\n

I am also a mother to my 12 year old son who began 6th grade this year in Warren Consolidated Schools. We love to spend time at our cottage in Port Sanilac and doing all kinds of water sports and outdoor activities. We also love our weekly movie nights where we have a picnic in our family room and watch one of our favorite movies \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n

I am a wife to my husband, A.J. We got married in September 2019 and enjoyed a wonderful honeymoon in Italy over winter break. I also practice martial arts with the Grosse Pointe Karate Club. I’ve studied Isshinryu karate for 17 years and have earned my second degree black belt. My son started training with me almost 3 years ago and is a 3rd degree brown belt. It’s a great way to stay healthy, learn self-defense and spend some quality time together.\u00a0<\/p>\n
