{"id":556,"date":"2018-11-29T18:44:48","date_gmt":"2018-11-29T23:44:48","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/consigp\/?p=556"},"modified":"2018-11-29T18:44:48","modified_gmt":"2018-11-29T23:44:48","slug":"week-of-november-26th-and-december-3rd","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/consigp\/2018\/11\/29\/week-of-november-26th-and-december-3rd\/","title":{"rendered":"Week of November 26th and December 3rd"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>Welcome back after what was, hopefully, a relaxing holiday.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>\u00a0Here&#8217;s our news for the week in Math class.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">We are starting to work in our next Unit, Number Systems.\u00a0 This unit includes revisiting past skills and introducing new ones involving:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">division of fractions (which reviews multiplication of fractions)<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">division of mixed numbers and fractions (reviews converting mixed to improper and vice-versa)<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">addition, subtraction, multiplication and division of decimals<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">multi-digit long division<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"> an introduction to integers and absolute value<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">plotting and finding distances on the coordinate plane<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">finding common factors and multiples\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">&#8211; We will have a quiz on December 6th on Lessons 6-8.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">&#8211; Please remember to check Parent Connect weekly (Tuesday is the best day) and have your child share their planners with you from time to time.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">&#8211; By now, all parents should have read and confirmed seeing the letter regarding Khan Academy posted on Google Classroom and shared with you by students.\u00a0 That letter is also here on the blog in my &#8220;pages&#8221;.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">&#8211; Finally, here&#8217;s a link to a survey for parents put out by the &#8220;Dearborn Shines&#8221; Project<\/span><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">\u00a0which Mrs. Jebril asked with share with parents.\u00a0 We&#8217;d appreciate it if you took a moment to take the survey and thanks in advance for doing so.\u00a0\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.surveymonkey.com\/r\/dshines\">https:\/\/www.surveymonkey.com\/r\/dshines<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Have a great few weeks, everyone!<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Welcome back after what was, hopefully, a relaxing holiday. \u00a0Here&#8217;s our news for the week in Math class.
