THE FOLLOWING IS AN EXPLANATION OF THE WEEKLY ASSIGNMENTS DUE AT THE END OF EACH WEEK.<\/p>\n

Weekly Vocabulary & Spelling Homework<\/strong><\/h1>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/strong>Every week you will receive a list of the week\u2019s words (10 words).\u00a0 Monday through Thursday you will be responsible for completing three different activities from the following list.\u00a0 You will have to complete this work at home.\u00a0 Occasionally there will be time in class \u2013 but there is no guarantee!! \u00a0On Friday students will take a vocabulary spelling test.\u00a0 On shorter weeks we may not have a spelling tests, or we may have a shorter list, or students will only have to complete two spelling activities.<\/em><\/p>\n

Sentences \u2013 THIS IS REQUIRED EVERY WEEK!<\/span>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/strong><\/h2>\n

Use your spelling words to write sentences.<\/h4>\n
    \n
  1. Sentences need to be at least eight<\/strong> words in length.<\/li>\n
  2. Sentences need to convey the meaning of the word.<\/li>\n
  3. You may one – two vocabulary\/spelling words per sentence.<\/li>\n
  4. Number sentences and underline spelling words<\/u>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Creativity:\u00a0 Choose 5 words.<\/span>\u00a0 <\/strong><\/h2>\n

    \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/strong>SELECT ONE FROM THE FOLLOWING:<\/p>\n

      \n
    • Draw the words in the shape of a rainbow using all different colors. Or use any other shape \u2013 use different colors.<\/li>\n
    • Draw a picture and \u201chide\u201d the spelling words in the picture.<\/li>\n
    • Draw a picture for each of the spelling words.<\/li>\n
    • Write your words using \u201cbubble letters\u201d or any other \u201cfancy\/graffiti\u201d style.<\/li>\n
    • Write your words 3 times each in different colors.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      You can do one of these twice a week so you use all 10 words \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

      Operations:<\/strong>\u00a0\u201cOperate\u201d on your spelling words. \u00a0\u00a0<\/span>Choose 5 words.<\/span> \u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/h2>\n

      Operating means to:<\/p>\n

      • Drop letter(s) to make a new word<\/li>\n
      • Add letter(s) to make a new word<\/li>\n
      • Change letter(s) to make a new word<\/li>\n
      • Conjugate the verb(s) in all its forms (try to use the tense\/conjugations we are currently studying)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        You can do one of these twice a week so you use all 10 words \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n
