{"id":102,"date":"2014-04-03T14:34:33","date_gmt":"2014-04-03T18:34:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/chasen\/?p=102"},"modified":"2014-04-03T14:34:33","modified_gmt":"2014-04-03T18:34:33","slug":"homework-for-tonight","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/chasen\/2014\/04\/03\/homework-for-tonight\/","title":{"rendered":"Homework for tonight"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Good Afternoon!<\/p>\n<p>Students will have an unusual homework assignment tonight. \u00a0We learned a new game today called &#8220;Fraction Top It&#8221;. \u00a0I am asking that your child play at least 5 rounds of this new game for their homework tonight. \u00a0Please make sure your child is using the language of mathematicians. \u00a0They should be saying &#8221; 1\/2 is more than 1\/3 because&#8230;&#8221; or &#8220;1\/8 is less than 4\/5 because&#8230;&#8221; and explaining their thinking. \u00a0Please make sure your child brings the Fraction Squares back to school, since we will be using them frequently in class. \u00a0I appreciate your help with this assignment.<\/p>\n<p>Tomorrow is the spelling test. \u00a0When we took our Buddy Check test today, several of the children did not know their words well. \u00a0Please make sure your child is practicing the spelling words daily.<\/p>\n<p>Our own Rebecca Lyons is participating in the play &#8220;Peter Pan&#8221; at Edsel Ford High School beginning tonight. \u00a0This would be a great family outing for everyone!<\/p>\n<p>Have a great evening!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Good Afternoon!
