{"id":278,"date":"2017-09-22T14:52:17","date_gmt":"2017-09-22T18:52:17","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/cassidn\/?p=278"},"modified":"2017-09-27T14:55:04","modified_gmt":"2017-09-27T18:55:04","slug":"advanced-photography-dramatic-portrait-form","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/cassidn\/2017\/09\/22\/advanced-photography-dramatic-portrait-form\/","title":{"rendered":"Advanced Photography-Dramatic Portrait &#8211; Form"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Dramatic Portrait<img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/thinkartmakeart.com\/mse\/images\/lightmoodbrassai.jpg\" \/> <\/strong><\/h2>\n<h6 style=\"text-align: center;\">Terms: Form, \u00a0ISO<\/h6>\n<h6 style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>GOAL:<\/strong> To complete a portrait while adjusting ISO and considering dramatic lighting to show form.<\/h6>\n<p><strong>Task<\/strong>: Students will complete a portrait while adjusting ISO and considering dramatic lighting to show form.<\/p>\n<p><strong>CRITERIA:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>3 images<\/li>\n<li>Images should each show a different form of dramatic lighting<\/li>\n<li>Overall piece should show form<\/li>\n<li>Finished images should be in .jpg format<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>STEPS:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Begin by opening one of your photos.<\/li>\n<li>On the bottom right side, select new layer. Name the layer \u201cgradient\u201d. Hit OK.<\/li>\n<li>Be sure to work on the new top layer when adding the gradient.<\/li>\n<li>If you are unhappy with the gradient, you can delete the layer and start over. This only works if you\u2019ve followed the steps above.<\/li>\n<li>On at least ONE image, apply a gradient.<\/li>\n<li>If you are happy with the gradient you chose, flatten the image. Do this by RIGHT CLICKING THE BACKGROUND LAYER -&gt; SELECT FLATTEN IMAGE.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ol start=\"7\">\n<li>You can now save your file as a .jpg and submit it.<\/li>\n<li>You can repeat this on the other photos if you choose\u2026as long as at least one photo has an added gradient.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>*IMPORTANT<\/strong>: Be sure to always save your file as a .PSD until you are ready to flatten the image and<\/p>\n<p>submit it.
