We have scheduled our next weekend activity for Saturday, April 29th at 2 p.m.\u00a0\u00a0 We will be having lunch at Buddy’s Pizza.\u00a0 Information is coming home today, please RSVP by Monday, April 24th so we can plan accordingly.\u00a0\u00a0 Please remember that transportation\u00a0must be\u00a0provided by the family, and students must be picked up within 15 minutes of the pick up time.\u00a0 Some families carpool – one person drives to the activity, the other family picks up.\u00a0 Something to think about to save a little time, and the students love attending the activities together.\u00a0 Just make sure we know at the drop off that they will be going home with another family.<\/p>\n
Next month we will begin our cooking classes with the\u00a0Michigan State University Extension Program.\u00a0 It is a series of classes designed for students with cognitive impairments.\u00a0 They will be teaching the students basic nutrition, kitchen skills and food safety techniques.\u00a0 Additionally, they will use basic kitchen appliances such as a microwave and\/or a slow cooker.\u00a0 We are excited to have them join us.\u00a0The dates for the classes are May 5, May 12,\u00a0May 19, May 23, June 6, June 9 and June 13.\u00a0 Each class will be one hour long,\u00a0from 12:30-1:30 p.m.<\/p>\n
Don’t forget – No School May 26 and May 29 – Conference Release Day\/Memorial Day<\/p>\n
