Information is coming home today about our Weekend Activity scheduled for Saturday, February 4th. \u00a0We will be going to see “Monster Trucks” at Southland Cinemark Theaters. \u00a0Please RSVP by tomorrow, so we can plan accordingly. \u00a0(Sorry we could’t get details to you sooner, but the theaters do not release their movie times until later in the week). \u00a0Students will be on their own again in March.<\/p>\n
Electronics – students have always been welcome to bring phones\/ipads\/ipods, etc. to class as long as they are using them at the appropriate times. \u00a0They are doing a great job with that – however, we’ve had an issue with charging phones during class time. \u00a0We haven been tripping over the cords, phones are crashing to the floor, students are preoccupied with where their device is, etc. \u00a0We have decided that while electronics are still permitted, charging them during school hours is not. \u00a0Students should come to school with their electronics fully charged to last them throughout the day. \u00a0If they aren’t staying charged throughout the day, they are using them too much!<\/p>\n
Valentines Day Update – Recently, we learned that the students are receiving nothing but praises from Burlington Coat Factory, The Henry and Planet Fitness. \u00a0We are so proud of them! \u00a0To celebrate this great news, we will be providing lunch on Valentines Day! \u00a0Details will follow at a later date.<\/p>\n
Also noteworthy, we had a record number of students qualify for the Healthy Lunch and Walking Club prize drawings in January. \u00a0Those that qualified for the Healthy Lunch Program with 52 points or higher were: \u00a0Sabrina, Fowzi, Nejwa, Tori, Sarah, Mo, Hiba, Susie, Ahlam, and Ali S. \u00a0 (Tori was the winner) \u00a0 \u00a0Those that qualified for the Walking Club Prize with 136 laps or more were: \u00a0Sarah, Ahlam, Malak, Sabrina, Susie, Hiba, Hadi, Ali J., and Tori (Ahlam was the winner!) Congratulations, and keep up the great work! \u00a0We are so proud of you all!!! \u00a0 We are currently putting together some ideas and samples of the types of things students are bringing for lunch to give ideas to those of you who need them! \u00a0Stay tuned!<\/p>\n
Finally, \u00a0Ms. Sue, one of our classroom parapro’s, has taken a position at another building and will not be returning to our class. \u00a0We anticipate welcoming a new parprofessional in the near future.<\/p>\n
