Hello Parents!<\/p>\n
Thank you to ALL the parents who were able to assist with our very successful and heartwarming field trip to the Veteran’s Hospital. \u00a0So many touching moments—many smiles both from your children and our veterans, a few tears, too! \u00a0Quite an experience!!!!!!<\/p>\n
Just a few reminders for upcoming events:<\/p>\n
Wednesday, May 15th: \u00a0Late Start<\/p>\n
Friday, May 17th: \u00a0Detroit Science Center—all day—Both children and chaperones will need a bag lunch and drink. \u00a0I recommend that children’s lunches be placed in a plastic bag—many paper bags tore on last Friday’s field trip. \u00a0Also, please label your child’s bag with their name. \u00a0Thank you!<\/p>\n
Wednesday, May 22nd: \u00a0Spring Concert, 6:00 p.m.<\/p>\n
Friday, May 24th and May 27th : \u00a0No school<\/p>\n
Now onto our classroom schedule:<\/p>\n
Spelling: \u00a0(schwa a, which sounds like a short “u” \/uh) \u00a0Our words are: \u00a0idea, again, agree, above, banana, ago, alike, balloon, away, and alone. \u00a0Bonus words are: \u00a0along, about. \u00a0Our sentence is: \u00a0Long ago the banana agreed with the balloon’s idea to go above the clouds.<\/p>\n
Reading: \u00a0Reading and acting out short plays<\/p>\n
Math: \u00a0Completion of Module 6—assessment on Wednesday.<\/p>\n
Writing: \u00a0Personal Narrative<\/p>\n
Science: \u00a0Plants and ecosystems<\/p>\n
