Hello Parents,<\/p>\n
I have a few thank ” you’s” to send out!!! First, thank you to all the parents who donated an item for our Halloween Party! Everything was yummy and the children enjoyed making their marshmallow\/toothpick sculptures. \u00a0Next, we had great news on Thursday—-We won<\/strong> the pizza party for having the most Box Tops. \u00a0AWESOME<\/strong>!!!! The class was soooooo excited and happy! \u00a0Watch your child’s planner to see which day we choose to have this. \u00a0It will probably take the place of lunch, so your child will only have to bring a drink on the selected day. \u00a0I will provide a little dessert. \u00a0Again, thank you and keep those Box Tops coming in for round 2:)<\/p>\n Our Hive Plans:<\/p>\n Spelling: ( Long “o” with the ow, oe, oa patterns) \u00a0Our words are: \u00a0grow, crow, mow, low, toe, doe, goes, foam, soap, toast and our bonus words are: float, throw and roast . Our question is: \u00a0Can the crow throw soap and toast as it goes home?<\/p>\n Reading: \u00a0Continuation with non-fiction—text features and how they increase our comprehension of our topic. We will also reference to the author’s purpose.<\/p>\n Writer’s Workshop: \u00a0Most authors have completed their final copies of their opinion papers—a few final touches and then they will be up on our bulletin board.<\/p>\n Math: \u00a0Our mid module assessment will be this week, probably on Wednesday (no school on Tuesday).<\/p>\n Social Studies: \u00a0We will be working on map skills<\/p>\n Our Hive Tidbits:<\/p>\n *Tuesday, November 6th—-No school<\/p>\n *Thursday, November 8th, Tuesday, November 13th and Thursday, November 15th—-Parent\/Teacher Conference dates.
