We have definitely felt a change in temperatures, so please be sure your little ones are dressed appropriately. \u00a0We do go out for recess in the morning and afternoon.<\/p>\n
The hive plans for this week:<\/p>\n
Spelling: \u00a0(beginning blends: \u00a0sl, sk, sp, st) \u00a0Our words are: skin, skip, slope, slip, slug, spell, spin, step, stone, and stand. \u00a0Bonus words: \u00a0skate, staple, student. \u00a0The sentence is: \u00a0The silly student wanted to spin, skip, and step down the slope.<\/p>\n
Reading: \u00a0Continuation with the elements of fiction—using graphic organizers. \u00a0Then onto non-fiction and working with various text features and how they help with comprehension of the topic.<\/p>\n
Writing: \u00a0Working on an opinion piece—comparing two different types of candy. \u00a0Brainstorming and first drafts this week. \u00a0Being sure to include reasons for our choice.<\/p>\n
Math: \u00a0We will have a review today and most likely a test on Tuesday or Wednesday. Watch your child’s planner. \u00a0Practice tape diagrams at home.<\/p>\n
Social Studies: \u00a0 Your child’s test will come home this week.<\/p>\n
