Last Call for ordering Scholastic Books. I accidentally left some ordering materials at school, so I won’t be able to place the order until Monday afternoon.<\/p>\n
We’re staying busy in Hive 108.<\/p>\n
Here are this week’s plans:<\/p>\n
Spelling: \u00a0Long and short u—-cut, cute, jump, nut, bump, tube, cub, cube, rude, use and our bonus words are: must, glue and tissue. Our sentence is: \u00a0The cute cub was rude when he cut the nut in two.<\/p>\n
Writer’s Workshop: \u00a0We are finishing up our “Boo-Boo” stories. \u00a0Some students have already shared their story with our class. \u00a0These stories should be up on our bulletin board soon, Bandaids included! \u00a0Ouch!<\/p>\n
Reading: To strengthen our comprehension skills we will be working on asking and answering who?, what?, where?, when? and how? within our assigned reading.<\/p>\n
Math: \u00a0More measurement, utilizing centimeters and meters. Also, incorporating length into addition and subtraction problems.<\/p>\n
Math Homework Books (Succeed<\/strong>) will be coming home on Monday. \u00a0Your child will be responsible for returning the assigned homework page\/pages which will be posted daily in their planners. \u00a0Please keep the book at home and utilize the parent pages as references for \u00a0your child’s homework and end of module assessments.<\/p>\n Social Studies: \u00a0Completion of our Community unit—Watch for your child’s red<\/strong> social studies folder<\/strong> to come home at the beginning of the week to study for our test—middle of the week. Please be sure to send them back,<\/strong> for we will continue to add to them.<\/p>\n Important tidbits:<\/p>\n *Monday, October 8th (2:00-3:30 p.m.), Parent Talk<\/strong><\/p>\n *Wednesday, October 10th, Walk to School Day<\/strong><\/p>\n *Friday, October 12th, 1\/2 day of school<\/strong>, dismissal at 11:45 a.m.<\/p>\n *Friday, October 19th, Picture Day<\/strong><\/p>\n Reminder that we will continue collecting dried fruit and Lifesaver candy<\/strong> for our troops (Operation Christmas Stockings) up until November 2nd.
