{"id":563,"date":"2020-10-12T09:53:51","date_gmt":"2020-10-12T13:53:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/bryantcounseling\/?p=563"},"modified":"2020-10-12T09:53:57","modified_gmt":"2020-10-12T13:53:57","slug":"an-opportunity-to-be-a-leader","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/bryantcounseling\/2020\/10\/12\/an-opportunity-to-be-a-leader\/","title":{"rendered":"An Opportunity to be a Leader"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Student&nbsp; Council provides leadership development opportunities to prepare and empower student leaders to serve Bryant and their community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>&nbsp;It offers:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Leadership<\/strong>\u2014Supporting the development of&nbsp; leadership skills and knowledge<\/li><li><strong>Service<\/strong>\u2014Helping build a climate of caring and tolerance through volunteerism and service to others<\/li><li><strong>Student Voice<\/strong>\u2014Promoting student council as the voice of the student body and giving every student an opportunity to be heard<\/li><li><strong>Engagemen<\/strong>t\u2014Encouraging students to become involved in school and community leadership and decision making<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>It requires:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Commitment<\/strong>\u2013 to attending meetings and events sponsored by the council. Missing 2 or more meetings results in removal even if you are in another school-sponsored club\/activity.&nbsp;<ul><li>6th grade is the first Thursday of the month from 3- 4 pm*<\/li><li>&nbsp;7th grade is the 2nd Thursday of the month from 3- 4 pm.*<\/li><li>8th grade is the 3rd Thursday of the month from 3- 4 pm*<\/li><li>All grades are the 4th Thursday of the month.from 3 \u2013 4pm*<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li><strong>Exemplary Behavior<\/strong>\u2013 as leaders of the school and the community, your actions serve as a role model. Be respectful, be responsible and be safe.<\/li><li><strong>Desire<\/strong>\u2013&nbsp; to help others,&nbsp; encourage your classmates,&nbsp;<strong>&nbsp;and promote school spirit.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/strong><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Participation<\/strong>&nbsp;is limited to 10 students per grade-level. When school is in person meetings will be held in Room 53. Students must have a ride home at 4PM.
