Reading<\/strong>: \u00a0Students will learn how to\u00a0use information gained from the illustrations and words in a print or digital text to demonstrate understanding of its characters, setting, or plot.<\/p>\n Math<\/strong>: \u00a0Students will learn to fluently add and subtract within 100 using strategies based on place value, properties of operations, and\/or the relationship between addition and subtraction. They will also learn to fluently add and subtract within 20 using mental strategies and by end of Grade 2, know from memory all sums of two one-digit numbers.<\/p>\n Writing<\/strong>: \u00a0Students will work on writing narratives in which they recount a well-elaborated event or short sequence of events, include details to describe actions, thoughts, and feelings, use temporal words to signal event order, and provide a sense of closure.
