{"id":1927,"date":"2018-09-09T19:09:43","date_gmt":"2018-09-09T23:09:43","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/bridger\/?p=1927"},"modified":"2018-09-09T19:37:18","modified_gmt":"2018-09-09T23:37:18","slug":"focus-for-the-week-14","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/bridger\/2018\/09\/09\/focus-for-the-week-14\/","title":{"rendered":"Focus for the Week"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"entry\">\n<p>This week our second grade students will be working on:<\/p>\n<div class=\"entry\">\n<p><strong>Reading<\/strong>: \u00a0Students will learn how to ask and answer questions\u00a0as who, what, where, when, why, and how to demonstrate understanding of key details in a text.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Math<\/strong>: \u00a0Students will learn to make a ten within 100 and subtract single-digit numbers from 10 within 100.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Writing<\/strong>: \u00a0Students will work on write narratives in which they recount a well-elaborated event or short sequence of events, include details to describe actions, thoughts, and feelings, use temporal words to signal event order, and provide a sense of closure.\u00a0\u00a0Students will use their writing to learn how to revise and edit.\u00a0 They will continue on to publishing.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Science<\/strong>: Students will continue to learn about sand and rocks. \u00a0We will be sorting, investigating and discussing rocks.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Social<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>Studies-<\/strong>Students will\u00a0understand that communities are places where people live, work and play.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/bridger\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/293\/2017\/11\/Unknown-4.jpeg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1371\" src=\"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/bridger\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/293\/2017\/11\/Unknown-4.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"233\" height=\"216\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This week our second grade students will be working on: Reading: \u00a0Students will learn how to ask and answer questions\u00a0as who, what, where, when, why, and how to demonstrate understanding of key details in a text.
