It will be full of new experiences and a lot\u00a0of fun! This note will include information about our class procedures, so please keep it handy for easy\u00a0reference throughout the year.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"layoutArea\">\n<div class=\"column\">\n<p><strong>Snacks and Birthdays<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"layoutArea\">\n<div class=\"column\">\n<p>We will have a designated snack time every day. If you would like to pack your child a snack, please send healthy items. You may want<\/p>\n<p>to send a bottle of water each day too. Some healthy choices include: goldfish, fruit, vegetables,\u00a0crackers, pretzels.<\/p>\n<p>ALL of the 2nd Grade classrooms will be PEANUT FREE. Please check\u00a0ingredients before sending a snack with your child.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"layoutArea\">\n<div class=\"column\">\n<p>We are happy to celebrate your child\u2019s birthday in class! However, Miller Elementary is taking steps to become a more healthy school, so please do NOT send cakes, cupcakes, or sugary foods. Goodie bags are okay, but will not be consumed in class and will be sent home at the end of the day.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"layoutArea\">\n<div class=\"column\">\n<p><strong>Important Homework<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"layoutArea\">\n<div class=\"column\">\n<p>Your child will have homework Monday through Thursday. I will be sending work that your child should be able to complete alone, however, your help may be needed at times. Please help your child to<\/p>\n<p>DISCOVER the answer without GIVING the answer.<br \/>\nYour child will be required to read for at least 20 minutes<\/p>\n<p>every day at home, including Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>If your child forgets his\/her homework, he\/she will bring a note home for you to sign. This will keep you informed of your child\u2019s<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"layoutArea\">\n<div class=\"column\">\n<p>missing assignments.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"page\" title=\"Page 2\">\n<table>\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td>\n<div class=\"layoutArea\">\n<div class=\"column\">\n<p><strong>Expectations<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"layoutArea\">\n<div class=\"column\">\n<p>In order to guarantee that your child and all of the students in my class have the successful year they deserve, I will not tolerate any student stopping me from teaching, nor any student stopping another from learning.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"layoutArea\">\n<div class=\"column\">\n<p>Be Responsible. Be Respectful. Be Safe.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"layoutArea\">\n<div class=\"column\">\n<p>*positive reinforcement<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"layoutArea\">\n<div class=\"column\">\n<p>*c<span style=\"font-family: inherit; font-size: inherit;\">onsequences<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"layoutArea\">\n<div class=\"column\">\n<p>If a student chooses to break a rule, they will flip their behavior card from Green (which means great job), to the following colors:<\/p>\n<p>Yellow = Warning;<br \/>\nOrange = Time Out &amp; Fill out a \u201cThink About It\u201d form<br \/>\nRed = Complete a \u201cThink About It\u201d form, office referral, and parent contact Blue = office referral and parent contact<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"layoutArea\">\n<div class=\"column\">\n<p>M i l l e r S c h o o l R u l es<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"layoutArea\">\n<div class=\"column\">\n<p>In our classroom, we strive to be the best we can be! There will be several rewards for the class to enjoy for good behavior. They may<\/p>\n<p>include extra recess, videos, stickers, electronics day, etc.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"layoutArea\">\n<div class=\"column\">\n<p>Miller Elementary will provide some basic supplies, but students may find it more<\/p>\n<p>convenient to have their own materials. The following items are recommended: -pencils -pencil box -backpack -box of tissues -crayons -glue sticks -dry erase markers -composition notebook -hand sanitizer<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"layoutArea\">\n<div class=\"column\">\n<p>Thank You!<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"layoutArea\">\n<div class=\"column\">\n<p>Once again, I would like to welcome<br \/>\nnot only your child to my class, but you as well. I consider us a team in working toward a good, quality education for your child. I am looking forward to meeting you! I encourage you to visit our room during Open House, conferences, parent meetings and other school activities. Discuss this plan with your child and consistently ask about their day! Praise your children when they are doing well and encourage them to work harder when they aren\u2019t doing their best work.
