Their care-givers are equally at risk and are often not equipped to help their children while they deal with their own grief.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.jmarkpowell.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/Miscarraige.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<h1 id=\"PageTitle\" class=\"title\">Open Arms Grief Support<\/h1>\n<div id=\"PageContent\" class=\"content\">\n<p>Open Arms is a grieving children\u2019s support program that helps children ages 3-17 years and their family members find healthy ways to cope with their feelings of sadness, anger or frustration, and be able to return to their day-to-day activities. Open Arms has become a place of comfort for children and adults who are surviving the loss of a loved one.<\/p>\n<p>Open Arms helps grieving children through five program components:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Grief support groups for children and their families<\/li>\n<li>Ten week school-based grief support groups<\/li>\n<li>Homicide survivor support groups and individual grief therapy<\/li>\n<li>Camp \u201cGood Grief\u201d a summer day camp that focuses on helping grieving children to just be a kid again<\/li>\n<li>Trauma Response Team<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<p>Open Arms programs is being offered\u00a0for our Miller Elementary students and their families in the school setting.<\/p>\n<p>If you are interested in having your child be a part of this program or would like more information, please feel free to email: \u00a0boussiz@dearbornschools.org or call 313.827.7381.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Did you know that 6 out of 10 school-aged children will experience the loss of a loved one before they are 18?
