Hello!! I would like to welcome you all to Seventh Grade Science. My name is Maureen Bourdage! This is my second year here at Stout Middle School and I love the students and the community feel that is a big part of our Stout family.
A bit about myself, I graduated from Michigan State University with an emphasis on Science and Language Arts. After, I continued on with my education at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. I graduated with a Master’s Degree in Administration with a focus on Curriculum and Assessment.
Through the years, I have taught a variety of grade levels from Preschool to 8th Grade. However, my main teaching has been in the Middle School (6th-8th grade) in Science and Language Arts. My last teaching job before coming to Stout was in a Japanese Immersion School in Livonia.
Outside of school, I spend much time with my husband and 5 children They range in age from 26-13. I have 3 boys and 2 girls. In addition, I also have a dog Izzy that has boundless energy. As a family, we love to be on the water whether swimming or boating. I dislike the cold winter months, so I spend as much time indoors reading or just playing board games with my kids as I can.
I look forward to having a fantastic year with your students! Science is about exploration and discovering the world around us!! I love to watch the students as they question the hows and whys of the world around us.
Thank you so much for sharing your children with me..Please know that the minute they step into my classroom they will be cared for as if they were my own!
