You should only create an individual meeting if you are having problems in that class.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/spreadsheets\/d\/1gNu4V8pmPVQyYbadQIPMPsfTtiz3UnILxZK3h_TG4NY\/edit?usp=sharing\">https:\/\/docs.google.com\/spreadsheets\/d\/1gNu4V8pmPVQyYbadQIPMPsfTtiz3UnILxZK3h_TG4NY\/edit?usp=sharing<\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Dear Parents\/Guardians,<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Parent-teacher conferences will be scheduled for Monday, October 24 from <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">4:00 PM &#8211; 7:00 PM and Wednesday, October 26 from 3:30 PM &#8211; 6:30 PM. \u00a0The STEM team will be conducting student-led conferences rather than the traditional parent-teacher conferences.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The focus of the student-led conference is to allow your child to demonstrate his\/her scholastic accomplishments. \u00a0As a parent\/guardian, you can provide encouragement and help your child set goals for the remainder of the year. \u00a0You will also have the opportunity to display a positive interest in your student&#8217;s learning and to accept his\/her self-evaluation of accomplishments.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Some of our goals for this conference format are:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 To help parents understand what is taking place in the classroom<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0To communicate about student learning<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0To accept ownership for learning and behavior<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0To enhance organizational and leadership skills<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0To build self-esteem through the development of self-confidence.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The conferences are planned to last approximately twenty minutes and thirty-five conferences may be scheduled at the same time. \u00a0We will be present for clarification or facilitation as necessary. \u00a0However, your student will be in charge of conducting the conference with you and it is important to honor the student&#8217;s commitment to that role. \u00a0Should you wish to confer with an individual teacher, we will schedule a follow-up conference.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>To schedule your conference day and time, use the link above OR\u00a0please visit the &#8220;STUDENT-LEAD CONFERENCES&#8221; page of the STEM blog<\/strong> and sign up for your time slot and room location. \u00a0<strong>There are two tabs on the spreadsheet, one for Monday and one for Wednesday.<\/strong> The room location is <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">not <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">teacher specific, it is just the place to access a computer and hold your conference &#8211; all teachers will be rotating through the rooms (elective teachers and core teachers). \u00a0It is important that you sign up prior to coming as there is limited space in each room at each time. \u00a0Also, please be sure to only sign up in spaces that are blank. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>PLEASE ONLY PICK ONE SLOT!
