This weeks focus is using context clues when determining the meaning of an unknown word.  &nbsp; I ask that parents take the time to read with you child each night. &nbsp;After the child has read for 30 minutes ask them questions about what they have read. &nbsp; I am assigning weekly summarize that need to be done.  Students must choose a book, read it and write a summary.  Summarize will be due on Friday. <br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Week 9<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>&nbsp;Spelling Words week 10&nbsp;<\/strong><br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>voucher, stretcher, bleacher, catcher, butcher, teacher, sketcher, rancher, researcher, preacher, square number, factor pair, prime number, parentheses, composite number<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Math:<\/strong> &nbsp;We are working on Module 2.  Module 2 focuses on unit conversion and problem solving with metric measurement.   &nbsp;In addition I ask that parents go over their child&#8217;s basic computation skills. &nbsp;Each student has a math bag.  In that bag you will find division and multiplication cards.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Science:<\/strong> This card marking period we will be learning about the scientific method and Energy. &nbsp;Students will participate in hands on experiments to better their understanding. &nbsp;I will send home readings that go along with what we are reading in class. &nbsp;Please go over the reading.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Social Studies:<\/strong> &nbsp;Students will demonstrate understanding of human geography.  We will begin unit 3.
