Updates

Hello Families,
Ramadan Mubarak to all my families who are observing this month. A few things I’d like to share with you:

* On Monday between 2-4, there will be another chromebook distribution at Henry Ford Elementary. If you already have one at home and is being shared with more than one child, you can go get another one.

*The district has suspended the use of Google Meets and Hangouts. I will not be meeting with my students next week until we get further directives from the district.

*Please continue to work with your child to the best of your ability. I know it can be difficult and overwhelming, especially with multiple children of different ages. If there’s anything I need to know or a situation that may arise, Please message me and we’ll work a plan together.

Take care and stay safe!

Week 5 of Remote Learning!

Welcome to our 5th week of continued learning! I’m so amazed by the amount of effort my students are putting in to continue their learning. I know how difficult those weeks have been. Please read the following:

  • Our district plan has been approved by the county and we are implementing it for the rest of the year. The district will be sharing it with parents as well. I know that grading is what’s on everyone’s mind. All the work your child does will be counted towards his/her last card marking grade. If your child participates and does all the work accurately, he/she will receive MEETING as a grade. If families choose to have their child participate partially, the child will receive  PROGRESSING as a grade. No participation or minimal work will result in LIMITED PARTICIPATION grade. As a result, the child will be recommended for summer school or more interventions next year. At the end of the day, we all have to do what’s best for our children. Our children’s learning has been interrupted by this situation. The only option we have is to do the best we can to make sure this gap doesn’t get bigger. We have to encourage our children to participate so they’re not so far behind next year.
  • I will be updating the weekly grid and posting the new lessons every Monday morning. I will be contacting families in the middle of the week and end of the week to give feedback and/or check on my students.
  • Office Hours: I will be checking students’ work daily and answering emails and messages from 12-3. If you need to reach me, please make sure you send me a Dojo message or email me on beydoui@dearbornschools.org. Students can also message me on Google Classroom. In addition, my blog is always available, feel free to subscribe to it and comment on it to message me (https://iblog.dearbornschools.org/beydouni/). I used my personal number to contact families last Friday. Please make sure you don’t use my number as a primary way of communicating with me. Dojo and email works best. Thank you!
  • Every Monday and Wednesday of the week, I will be doing a Google Meet at 3:00. It’ll be my time to work with students and teach them new math and ELA concepts. During that time, I’m asking my students to have their math work ready so we can go over it together.
  • How to Google Meet with me? When you open up Google Classroom, there is a meet link right under my name. Just click on it and join the meeting at 3:00. The meetings will last 30 minutes.

Remote Learning Returns!

Welcome back and I hope you had a restful break. I’m hoping all my families are doing great and are healthy! The online grid is up to date. Please make sure your child gets on and completes all of the work by the end of the week. If you have any questions please email me on beydoui@dearborschools.org or message me via Dojo.

Spring Break!

Next week will be Spring Break for all students and teachers. It’s going to be a good time for all of us to enjoy spending time with our families and put the stress aside. Students, take the time to help out your families and say thank you to them. Parents, take this time to allow your children to take on chores and feel responsible. Your teacher will be unplugging from everything to enjoy her time with her family. Take care and stay safe. For those families who celebrate Easter, have a blessed Easter.
