Welcome to an exciting year of learning. We will be doing many varied activities throughout the year to support your student’s learning. Here, I will give a short overview of the subjects taught during the school year and during weekly posts will be more detailed. The students will be learning Daily 5 our Reading Structure which is composed of Read to Self, Write to Self, Listen to Reading, Work on Words, and Read to Someone. Next there is Everyday Math, recognizing and naming numbers , recognizing the quantity of numbers, shapes, measurement, and computation(adding and subtracting). In Social studies we will be learning how to be a good citizen, \u00a0to follow rules, cooperate with others, respect others and work together as a class. In Science we will begin with the 5 Senses and what it means to be a Scientist. We will be learning Writing and Spelling to work within our Reading Structure.
