If you are reading this you are probably one of the students in my class this year! \u00a0If you are an adult reading this alone please go get your student so they can read my blog with you! \u00a0This blog will be addressed to the students, for the most part, all year.<\/p>\n
Welcome to my class!! \u00a0I am very excited about the upcoming school year! \u00a0We will have a learning community of both fifth and fourth graders, which I have never done before, so we will all be learning new things this year!<\/p>\n
The supplies you will need:<\/p>\n
*The usual pencils,\u00a0pens, and highlighters. \u00a0You will use black, blue, and red pens this year.<\/p>\n
*A small personal pencil sharpener. It saves time and I think sometimes that the sharpener in my room has a pencil eating troll living in it. \ud83d\ude00<\/p>\n
*Loose leaf paper. Wide-ruled is probably best. \u00a0It gives you more room to write neatly and besides…I have older eyes than you.<\/p>\n
*You will need a couple of folders. \u00a0I have plain ones, but if you want folders with Frozen, Star Wars (YAY),\u00a0One Direction or something else on them you will \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0need to go shopping. \u00a0The same goes for a couple of spiral notebooks.<\/p>\n
*You will use binders this year to stay organized. \u00a0They should be 1″ binders so they fit in your desk easily. \u00a0One should be white and will be used for your Leadership Binder. \u00a0You probably already have one from last year. \u00a0The second one will be used for literacy. \u00a0The third one will be used for the content areas (Math, Science, and SS.) \u00a0I do not care what these two binders have on them…kittens, Red Wings, Star Wars (YAY again)…whatever. \u00a0They can be soft side or hard side.<\/p>\n
*You will need a couple packs of dividers to be used inside\u00a0the binders.<\/p>\n
*You also will be using crayons, markers, and colored pencils throughout the year. \u00a0I have some, but if you want the colors in the 128 box you will need to bring them in.<\/p>\n
*Dry erase markers are a must!! \u00a0They don’t have to be fancy colors. \u00a0Also, if you want to erase with something other than the squares I cut from the dollar store baby blanket that I have you will need to bring that in too.<\/p>\n
*We also always need lots of classroom size boxes of facial tissue and classroom size bottles of hand sanitizer.<\/p>\n
*Head phones for the computer..we will be doing a lot of computer work this year. \u00a0Also, please bring in a flash drive. \u00a0These items do not have to be the most expensive ones. \u00a0(But I guess that’s up to your parents.)<\/p>\n
***Please note that we WILL be having time for a snack on Tuesday. \u00a0Your snacks need to be healthy ones such as fruit, veggies, cheese & crackers etc. \u00a0Please don’t bring in cookies, candy, pop, chips or other junk food for snacks. \u00a0This is the rule for snacks for the whole year. \u00a0Also, please avoid bringing nuts on the first day. \u00a0I don’t know yet if this will need to be a rule for the year or just the first few days. \u00a0I will let you know as soon as I find out.<\/p>\n
******If you are a morning safety please meet me in the cafeteria at 8:20 on Tuesday. \u00a0Bus safeties please work your bus posts. \u00a0Afternoon safeties I will talk to you and give you your belts during the morning on Tuesday. \u00a0Please tell your safety friends in the other classes!!<\/p>\n
