The results of this test are \/ and will be used to determine your child\u2019s instructional level and to measure academic growth throughout the school year, and from year to year. Each test will take approximately 40 to 60 minutes to complete and will be administered on different days. \u00a0Measurements of Academic Progress (MAP<sup>\u00ae)<\/sup>\u00a0tests are unique in that they adapt to your child\u2019s appropriate level of learning. As a result, each student has the same opportunity to succeed and maintain a positive attitude toward school.<\/p>\n<p>The MAP<sup>\u00ae<\/sup>\u00a0test is administered three times a year; fall, winter and spring.\u00a0 For more information on resources for parents, download the\u00a0<strong><em>Parent Toolkit<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0at\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nwea.org\/\">www.nwea.org<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Please talk to your child to take her\/his time and do his\/her best.<\/strong>\u00a0On the NWEA\/MAP \u00a0students will be tested on the following subjects:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Kindergarten 1<sup>st<\/sup>\u00a0Grade and 2<sup>nd<\/sup>\u00a0grade students are tested in Math and Reading<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>3<sup>rd<\/sup>, 4<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0and 5<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0grade students are tested in Math, Reading, Language, Science<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Please remind your child of the following test-taking tips.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Before the Test<\/u><\/strong><strong>:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>*Develop a positive attitude. Tell yourself, \u201cI will do my best on this test.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>*Get a good night\u2019s sleep the night before the test.<\/p>\n<p>*Get up early enough to avoid rushing to get to school on time.<\/p>\n<p>*Eat a healthy breakfast.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>During the Test:<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>*Relax and Stay calm.<\/p>\n<p>*Listen carefully to the directions the teacher gives.<\/p>\n<p>*Ask questions if you do not understand what to do.<\/p>\n<p>*Read each question carefully.
