Parent Conferences\n\u2013Thank-you to the parents that I have seen at parent conferences so far!  It is so nice to talk to you about your\nwonderful children.  The Tuesday,\nNovember 12 conference was on the snow day, so I have been trying to reschedule\nwith you.  Please contact me if you have\nnot heard from me.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The First\nThanksgiving Play-  The students are busy\nwriting what they will say in the First Thanksgiving play that we will put\non.  Please reserve Tuesday, November 26\nat either 11:00 a.m. or 2:00 p.m. to come and see your child put on this\nplay.  It is a simple play that they\nwrite, make paper hat costumes, simple props and settings as well as, learn\nmany things about history, reading with expression and working together.  Please come if you can, or send a\nrepresentative, so your child is not disappointed.  It should be less than a half hour and is\ndone in my classroom 202 main.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

SCIENCE – We are learning about the\nuses and properties of water for our next unit.<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

PLANNERS<\/strong>–\nPlease send these every day because we use them. The spelling words will be\nwritten in them, also. There is a charge, if a planner is lost.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SPELLING WORDS FOR NEXT WEEK ARE again with endings \u2013s, -ed,\n-ing.  Please continue to point out the pattern of the spelling\nwords each week and help your child discover words with these patterns in their\nreading.  Soon, your child will be\npointing these out to you, if they do not already.  A good idea is to get a blank notebook and\nkeep a list.  Send them in for extra\ncredit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The words will be: asked, bites, bugging, dropped, lifted,\nchips, hikes, looking, opening, pecks placed, runs, trading, uses, wags.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Social Studies<\/strong>–\nOur next unit is, \u201cWhere my community and what is it like?\u201d  We are learning about direction words and\nmaps.  I am still accepting maps of\nbedrooms.  Several students received\nextra credit for doing these. We also have looked at where on the map that the\npilgrim voyage would be.             <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Please point out\nthe names of streets in your neighborhood and make sure that your child can say\nhis\/her address.   <\/p>\n\n\n\n
