Parent\nConferences-  Thank-you for sending back\nthe blue slip from your Parent-Teacher Conference invitation.  If you did not receive a blue invitation,\nplease contact me.  I am still waiting\nfor some of your replies.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

SCIENCE – We are learning about the\nuses and properties of water for our next unit.<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

PLANNERS<\/strong>– Please send these every day, because we use them. The spelling words will be written in them, also. There is a charge, if a planner is lost.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SPELLING WORDS FOR NEXT WEEK ARE endings \u2013s, -ed, -ing.  Please continue to point out the pattern of the spelling words each week\nand help your child discover words with these patterns in their reading.  Soon, your child will be pointing these out\nto you, if they do not already.  A good\nidea is to get a blank notebook and keep a list.  Send them in for extra credit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The words will be: calls, cools, drags, filled, grinned,\nhiked, hugged, jogged, lifted, patting, racing, shaking, sliding, winning,\nyelled.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Social Studies<\/strong>– Our next unit is, \u201cWhere is my community and what is it like?\u201d\u00a0 We are learning about direction words and maps.\u00a0 I am still accepting maps of bedrooms.\u00a0 Several students received extra credit for doing these.\u00a0 Please point out the names of streets in your neighborhood and make sure that your child can say his\/her address.\u00a0\u00a0 <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Congratulations to Sara Mowari for being the Star Student! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mrs. McCormick gave Wafa Almuraisi the honor of being the\nbest \u201cbucket filler\u201d (doing a helpful job to the class) for the second grade\nthis month!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
