{"id":738,"date":"2019-10-10T16:48:27","date_gmt":"2019-10-10T20:48:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/ballnic\/?p=738"},"modified":"2019-10-10T16:48:28","modified_gmt":"2019-10-10T20:48:28","slug":"friday-october-11-2019","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/ballnic\/2019\/10\/10\/friday-october-11-2019\/","title":{"rendered":"Friday, October 11, 2019"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Friday, October 11, 2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mrs. Ballnik\u2019s Classroom News<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>My email is\nballnic@dearbornschools.org<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Please email me (or use Class Dojo), if you can because I\nread it at least twice a day.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Send\nnotes or call the office and I will get back to you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>SCIENCE- Science is the study of\nMatter right now.&nbsp; We use adjectives or\nProperties to describe matter.&nbsp; Matter is\neverything.&nbsp; A desk, water, air etc\u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The mystery bags that are sent in are\nto practice describing things without telling what they are.&nbsp; Please try this at home and observe your\nchild\u2019s descriptive skills.&nbsp; We also use\nadjectives and descriptions in reading.&nbsp;\nHave your child find this in their books to show you.&nbsp; New books were given to everyone that brought\nin their book bags last Wednesday.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>PLANNERS<\/strong>&#8211; Please\nsend these every day because we use them. The spelling words will be written in\nthem, also. There is a charge, if a planner is lost.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>SPELLING WORDS FOR NEXT WEEK ARE Different words with LONG\nVOWELS THAT END IN E contrasted with CONSONANT VOWEL CONSONANT WORDS that have\na short vowel sound.&nbsp; Please continue to\npoint out the pattern of the spelling words each week and help your child\ndiscover words with these patterns in their reading.&nbsp; Soon your child will be pointing these out to\nyou, if they do not already.&nbsp; A good idea\nis to get a blank notebook and keep a list.&nbsp;\nSend them in for extra credit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The words will be:&nbsp;\nhope, hop, cute, cut, bit, bite, can, cane, kit, kite, cub, cube, robe,\nrob, fin, fine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>THE SAME WORDS ARE BEING USED NEXT WEEK BECAUSE WE HAVE A\nHALF DAY, TODAY.&nbsp; Everyone should get a\nstar on their spelling next week!&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; There\nare the same 16 words this week.&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Social Studies<\/strong>&#8211;\nPlease continue to point out things that you see as you walk\/ride through our\nCOMMUNITY of Dearborn.&nbsp; We are studying\nabout community.&nbsp; There are natural\ncharacteristics (tree, river, grass) and human characteristics (bridge, road,\nstore) of our community to be seen.&nbsp;\nPlease discuss these as you see them at home.&nbsp;&nbsp; Can your child name the 5 characteristics of\na community?
