Henry Ford is a wonderful school to be teaching at! \u00a0My teaching degree is from Eastern Michigan University where I also obtained a Master\u2019s degree in Reading Education.\u00a0 I live in Dearborn with my husband, son and daughter.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">HOMEWORK FOLDER<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Please watch for notes and things to <em><b>send back to school<\/b><\/em> in your child\u2019s<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">HOMEWORK FOLDER<\/span>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">EMERGENCY FORMS<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>Please return these<\/em> <em><b><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">EMERGENCY FORMS<\/span><\/b><\/em> <em><b>.<\/b><\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">SUPPLIES<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em><b>You may want to contribute supplies to the class. Your child and the class could use the following:<\/b><\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Pencil box (to keep pencils, scissors, glue stick and scissors in)<\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Pencils ( continually needed during the year)<\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Large eraser <\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Glue stick<\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Markers if desired<\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Small pencil sharpener with cover for pencil shavings<\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Small blunt end scissors<\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Box of 24 count crayons<\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Bottle of hand sanitizer (for class use)<\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Zip lock bags (any size for class use)<\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Box of Kleenex (for class use)<\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">A TAKE HOME FOLDER or pocket folder for Homework (I much prefer the plastic duotang folders for their durability).<\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Once again, the class and I would greatly appreciate it, but you do not have to send supplies, except for pencils.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">SNACK<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>Your child may bring in a healthy snack (fruits, vegetables, crackers) for the afternoon.\u00a0 Snacks are eaten while we continue to work. \u00a0\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">BIRTHDAYS<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>If you would like to, you may send a <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">healthy<\/span> treat in for your child\u2019s birthday.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><em><b><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">LUNCH<\/span><\/b><\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Lunch is available to purchase or students may bring their own lunch.\u00a0 Pop will not be permitted in the lunch room.\u00a0 Free and reduced lunch forms will be sent home and need to be completed every year.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><em><b><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">ABSENCES<\/span><\/b><\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>It is important that you call the school if your child is going to be absent (827-4700).\u00a0 If your child is late, they must check in at the office before coming to the classroom. <\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><em><b><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">WATER BOTTLE<\/span><\/b><\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Please send in a water bottle with your child.\u00a0 The water bottle that does not have a cap that has to be screwed on each time you drink is best. <\/em><\/p>\n<p><b>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Should you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to write a note or call.\u00a0 My e-mail address is <a href=\"mailto:ballnic@dearbornschools.org\">ballnic@dearbornschools.org<\/a> or you can leave a message at the office, which I will return as soon as I can.\u00a0 <\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Second grade is my favorite grade and I hope to make it your child\u2019s favorite also!\u00a0 \u00a0I am looking forward to a wonderful and productive year working with you and your child.\u00a0 It is with your support that your child will be the most successful in school.<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 See you at Open House<\/b> on September 14,<br \/>\n<strong>Mrs. Ballnik\u00a0 \ud83d\ude42<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>August, 2017 Dear Parents and Students, \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Welcome to Second Grade!\u00a0 I am very pleased that your child is in my class. \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Let me introduce myself.\u00a0 My name is Mrs. Ballnik and I am your child\u2019s second grade teacher.\u00a0 I have been enjoying teaching in Dearborn for twenty-seven years.
