We encourage you to come and see the wonderful; things happening in our class!<\/em><\/strong><\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>We will continue with testing for NWEA and DRA your child will bring the results with them, once they are available.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Spelling:  Long and short &#8220;i&#8221;<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>insist, inflict, dismiss, inspire, visit, expire, alive, divide, surprise, private<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Content words:  constitution, balance, separation, branches, legislative, judicial, executive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Language:  Questions\/Strategies to ask\/use when reading .<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Central Message<\/strong> are the main elements that make up the text and that all the supporting details help to develop.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Key details <\/strong>include words, phrases, illustrations that support the main idea.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Summarize <\/strong>is to identify the key ideas, details, or events in the text and give a brief statement of the main points of something.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Theme<\/strong> is the central message, the lesson, or what the author wants you to come away with.&nbsp; There can be more than one theme in a story.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Characters respond to challenge<\/strong> is the way the characters react or respond to problems or challenges in a story or drama.&nbsp; In poetry, it would be the <strong>speaker <\/strong>&nbsp;and their reaction to a topic.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Drama<\/strong><strong> <\/strong>fictional story (play) meant to be acted out in front of an audience; comedy, tragedy, or drama (funny and serious); Just like a story only performed live.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Poem <\/strong>a type of literature that expresses ideas, feelings, or tells a story in a specific form<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>(usually using lines and stanzas)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Math:  <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Social Studies<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/dec.dearbornschools.org\/mod\/url\/view.php?id=3367\"><strong>Lesson 2-How is our government organized?<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/dec.dearbornschools.org\/mod\/url\/view.php?id=3368\"><strong>Lesson 2 supplemental materials<\/strong><\/a><br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Hope you had a relaxing weekend!!
