Happy Saturday!\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We have officially completed our first week of virtual\u00a0learning and I’ve learned so much in the process.\u00a0I am so proud of the students and how well they are adapting to this.\u00a0And, thank you parents for being their support and cheering us all on.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In reflecting on this past week, I just wanted to update you with some information that I think is helpful to everyone. There is a lot here so I apologize in advance.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Specials (1:00 – 1:54):\u00a0<\/strong>The school is still working on special schedules\u00a0so thank you for being patient. As soon as they are confirmed, I will share a schedule with you. In the meantime, I’ll let students know which\u00a0special they are supposed\u00a0to complete. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Supplies:\u00a0<\/strong>Starting Monday, all students will be expected to have the following supplies with them:-whiteboard\/marker OR notebook\/pencil, books for independent readin<\/strong>g, and Eureka Math books.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I am recommending students have a whiteboard\/whiteboard marker and headphones. They are\u00a0not required<\/strong>\u00a0but I am finding students are finding these easier to have and less distracted.\u00a0\u00a0Whiteboards are sold at dollar tree for $1. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Student Expectations:<\/strong>\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We have been reviewing expectations\u00a0everyday. Here are some that students are need to continue working on.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Please help by reminding them at home, as well and will cause less distraction than me calling their name in front of the class:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1. Stay on mute. Raise your hand if you’d like to share.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2. Only respond\u00a0appropriately<\/strong>\u00a0in the chat room.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3. Have your supplies first thing in the morning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

4. Use the restroom in the morning before class and during breaks, if possible.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

5. Stay in front of the camera. Do not place items in front of the camera.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

6. Find a comfortable place to work and stay there. Do not walk around with your device.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

7. Work on Schoology assignments and specials after they log off of Zoom at<\/strong> 1:00. Assignments will be due that day by midnight. The folder will close after that. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Important Information:\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

1. Please help your child find an appropriate place to work. Laying in bed is not conducive to a good learning environment.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2.\u00a0Please make sure students are logging in at 8:55.<\/strong>\u00a0In the morning we will be doing morning work, or listening to calming music and I will be sharing my screen. Being on time, will avoid distractions and getting off task. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

3. Please make sure students are working in Schoology during the 1:00 – 3:50 time frame. Once they are off Zoom with me at 1:00 they are not done with school. They still have 3 hours to complete independent work that is assigned to them. Assignments will be due by the end of the day since they have 3 hours to work on it.\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
