In class today I put students in groups of 2. They were assigned one paragraph from the Willing to be Disturbed article I assigned this past Tuesday. They had to rewrite their assigned paragraph in a one sentence summary and then explain why what they wrote was so important. I then had the class put a master copy together of all their one sentence summaries of the article, and I posted it on Schoology so everyone can read it. I finished the class off discussing the article myself. On Monday, we will go over the summarized article the class made.

We first did bellwork # 9 (a continuation from bellworks last semester). In class today we continued on with the topic of decision making. We did an exercise in class where I set a time limit of 3 minutes and asked students 12 random, different questions. Once the time finished, I had each student provide their responses to a number of the different questions. I then related it to decision making and discussed more details about it. Tomorrow, we will go over the Will to be Disturbed article.

In class today I discussed the significance of making decisions and the importance of the assignment you did on Monday. If you didn’t do Monday’s assignment you must have it done for tomorrow. I want to continue to talk more about it tomorrow.

In class today students read and annotated an article then answered follow-up questions for it. Please have the reading, annotating, and answering the questions done for tomorrow if you didn’t finish in class. I have attached a copy of the assignment under the week 1 folder on Schoology.
